Lead RemovalBeginning April 2010, federal law will require contractors that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built BEFORE 1978 to be certified and follow specific lead safe work practices to prevent lead contamination. Was your home, child care facility or school built before 1978? Ask to see your contractor's certification and your copy of the "Renovate Right" pamphlet before any work is started. Lead is hazardous to everyone but children are at a greater risk than adults because their bodies are developing.
The most common way lead to get lead in the body is from dust. Lead dust comes from deteriorating lead-based paint and lead contaminated soil that gets tracked into your home. This dust may accumulate to unsafe levels.
Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips. Make sure your contractor follows the correct lead safe work practices and the area is being cleaned daily. Once the work is completed ask for the contractors' final clean up check. If the area being worked fails the dust test the area should be re-cleaned and tested again.
To learn more about the lead and it's hazardous affects contact the EPA at 1-800-424 LEAD or visit their website at www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/leadinfo.htm.
Prompt action after the insurance company called your company. Each employee had the knowledge to know what to do and how to do it. Each member of your staff was respectful and helpfull at all times that includes those in the field and in the office.
Sorry this took longer than promised, unlike you and your service. You came to my rescue promptly and did the job quickly and so beautifully. You do good work and I would be proud to recommend you. Thank you so much. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your work. >>Read our customer's note to SMCV.
Your work crew went way above and beyond the call of duty. While they were waiting for the mirror guy to come and remove the mirror in the master bath, they helped me fix a couple of sprinkler leaks. I wish I had obtained your contact information a couple of months ago. I don't often offer, but I would be happy to serve as a reference for your company. All around I think your services were top notch.
Great Job!
